COMMECIAL—CDM regulations These regulations now implement the EC directive (92/57/EEC) which relates to temporary or mobile construction sites these regulations came into effect on 31st March 1995. and were updated in to “The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM 2007) came into force on 6 April 2007” The regulations apply to all projects where construction work is due to last more than 30 days, or involve more than 500 person days, and where 5 or more persons will be on site at any one time. Not withstanding this, the regulations apply to all demolition and dismantling work. Clients should note that the requirements of the regulations would be amplified in due course by an approved code of practice. This will give further guidance on competency, the Health and Safety plan, and the Health and Safety file.
